Devastated Homes

Small villages near Concepcion de Ataco in El Salvador were devastated in violent storms that hit last summer, leaving hundreds of families without good shelter. There is a government supported housing project for rebuilding the homes (mostly cardboard at the time they were destroyed) that will be reconstructed as small formed pre-cast concrete homes at a cost of about $2000 USD each. After visiting these villages last year, Greg Poe decided that the Ryan J. Poe Foundation would donate the funds to construct one of these badly needed homes. This is a poverty-stricken area, and the new homes are being constructed of concrete to withstand even the worst weather in the future. (See photo of construction below)

Schools In Need

There is also a project in the works for the school which primarily needs simple supplies at this time; paper, pencils, erasers, crayons, etc. You can help by sending even small amounts of these simple supplies! There are other critical needs as well - running water and plumbing for real bathrooms and toilets, a fence for the perimeter, kitchen supplies, etc.

You Can Help

The Ryan J. Poe Foundation delivered these supplies and others at the end of February, 2010. If you are interested in sending supplies or cash donations, please contact us to send items and supplies. Online donations can be made as well using the link below.
